Archaeology at The Trent House: The Search for Mahlon Stacy’s Dorehouse

Fridays and Saturdays, from June 7, through July 6, from 1-3 pm the Trent House invites the public to come out and watch professional archaeologists begin an archaeological dig right here on the property .

This excavation will give insight into what was on the property before the time of Mr. Trent.  One of the things that we will specifically be looking for will be the foundation of the former residence of Mahlon Stacy, also known as Dorehouse. The Trent House has partnered with Richard Hunter of Hunter Research, and Dr. Richard Veit of Monmouth University to accomplish this goal. Come see what we will unearth!

This archaeological excavation is made possible by a grant from NJM.
